Effects of Bullying
The effects of bullying can be long lasting for victims including fear and anxiety, depression, thoughts of suicide and actual suicide and can also affect the ability for children to focus at school.
Victims of bullying can experience tremendous fear at school or at home, which include:
- Fear to go to school
- Fear to ride the school bus
- Fear to use the school bathroom
- Fear of being alone in the school hallway
- Fear to go out side
- Fear to go on social media (Facebook, twitter, etc.)
Even after school and through out life the long term effects of bullying include:
- Fear
- Depression
- Loneliness
- Anxiety
- Low self-esteem
- Physical illness
- Suicidal thoughts or actions
